Accu-Sort FAST Tag Start

FAST Tag Start is Accu-Sort’s RFID tagging compliance starter kit. It is based on the FAST Tag software line and designed
specifically to get customers started in RFID.

A user friendly interface, that has been refined over 10 years of refinement in automation applications, makes getting started with RFID compliance easy. It also puts you on a platform that is the “real deal” and will put you on a path to your production solution.

The easy-to-use interface provides single push button entry for up to 5 product SKUs. On demand product processing allows the operator to dispense one tag at a time. Configurable batch processing allows the user to enter a set quantity of tags to be
dispensed after product selection. A graphical display shows proper tag placement on the object after the tag has been encoded.

FAST Tag Start also manages EPC tag serial numbers for each product. This function is integrated with on-the-fly tag validation and invalid tag skipping. These processes read and validate the tag data, if defective tags are found they are printed over so that the customer doesn’t send out unreadable tags.

The Starter kit supports several RFID capable printers including Zebra, SATO, Datamax, Paxar, and Printronix. It is also capable of driving RFID verification readers as well as accepting input from a hand held barcode scanner.

Accu-Sort FAST Tag Applicator

The FAST Tag Applicator offers you a turn-key automated solution for placing RFID tags on cartons. This solution is part of Accu-Sort’s “Tag-to-Ship” centralized system architecture, which allows it to be seamlessly integrated with you existing data
management infrastructure through Accu-Sort’s FAST Tag DataServer solution, making it scalable as your needs grow in the future.

Technical Highlights

The FAST Tag RFID Tag Applicator is based on proven Videojet Labeljet technology. The integral stepper motor drives the tag web at up to 98 feet per minute (30 m/min.) The easy-to-operate touch screen control makes product selection and setup just a touch away.

RFID tags are tested by the integrated RFID tag verifier before and after encoding prior to being placed on the product. Defective tags bypass the applicator and are fed through to the takeup reel. This ensures that only programmable/readable tags are placed on the product and no defective tags enter the supply chain.

The FAST Tag RFID Tag Applicator manages EPC tag serial numbers for each product. One year of support and upgrades ensures EPC compliance as standards evolve. Pallet
tags can be generated after a pallet has been completely filled. The FAST Tag RFID Tag Applicator can easily be integrated with existing legacy IT and ERP/WMS systems and provides simplified production statistics.

Accu-Sort FAST Tag Over-the-Conveyor (OTC)
 RFID Tunnel System

Accu-Sort’s FAST Tag Over-the-Conveyor (OTC) RFID tunnel systems provide increased visibility of assets flowing across conveyors within warehouses or distribution centers. The family of system solutions range in capability from the verification of RFID tags being placed on cartons to high speed sortation systems running at up to 600 fpm. All these products are developed with Accu-Sort’s application specific components to provide industry leading performance.

These solution are part of Accu-Sort’s Tag-to-Ship centralized system architecture, which allows them to be seamlessly integrated with your existing data management infrastructure through Accu-Sort’s FAST Tag DataServer solution. These systems can also be integrated with your existing bar code scanning tunnels enabling the aggregation of RFID and bar code data for increased asset visibility.

 Technology Highlights

The Accu-Sort OTC RFID tunnels are designed as highly integrated systems, using application specific RFID readers, antennas, software and structures to obtain the maximum accuracy of tracking assets within a manufacturing, warehouse or distribution center.

These systems are designed to support up to 4 antennas for tracking RFID tags placed on any of the six sides of a carton. Accu-Sort has a family of antennas to meet your specific
application needs, from top and side antennas, to unobtrusive bottom read designs. These bottom read antenna are available in varying widths to accommodate the different conveyor solutions commonly found within the supply chain. A number of Accu-Sort antennas are designed using narrow beamed RF energy patterns to enable the system to singulate between closely spaced cartons. This same feature minimizes stray RF energy
from causing undesired interference as is typical with general purpose antenna designs. Accu-Sort has leveraged its tracking software developed and refined in its bar code tracking systems for use in RFID OTC applications.

Accu-Sort provides a detailed RF site survey as part of its solution design effort to analyze your needs and understand the environment that your Accu-Sort RFID tunnel will need to operate in. The structure is designed to easily integrate with your existing
conveyor systems to reduce deployment time, while at the same time isolating the tunnel to the maximum extent from outside RF interference.

CTM Series 3600RW Label Applicator

Features:

The 3600RW RFIDPrinter Applicator is a rugged and versatile,
high speed, thermal transfer labeler used to encode, print and
apply pressure sensitive RFID labels to various products. A Sato
or Zebra print engine is integrated into an applicator to form a
self-contained unit to print variable data.

These units use the latest developments in print engine RFID
technology with upgrade capability.

The antenna is positioned immediately forward of the print head in both the Sato and Zebra units for reading/writing the next label out. The unique reject label accumulator shuttle advances under the applicator to receive reject labels. Rejected labels are print marked for visual identification.

In the event the shuttle accumulates too many rejects, a stop
circuit is provided with an optional alarm. The shuttle mounting
allows for easy removal of the rejected labels.

Assembled with Sato and Zebra printer modules, the unit can be
mounted in various positions to apply labels to the tops, sides or
bottoms of a multitude of products with its proven tamp-blow
application. Small and large labels can be accommodated with its built-in bar codes and alpha-numeric fonts.

The plc control with user-friendly display interface offers quick
access to set-up selection for application operating parameters.
Various onboard I/O signals are pre-wired to an external connector; optional features may be added in the field with minimum investment.

NOTE: Label sizes dependent upon print engine model, also contact CTM Integration for custom sizes or shapes.
