ARM DRIVE AND SUPPORT SYSTEM

This unique system that is designed for the INFRA PAK RT-Series equipment uses the best of both the direct drive and ring gear designs and offers features that those cannot.  This support system consists of a drive shaft that is supported by a self aligning flange bearing. This shaft is not taking any bending or shock loads. The shaft mainly functions as a spindle to keep swing arm/tower rotating about its axis.  There is a secondary set of bearing arrangement that support a large steel ring. This metal ring is 24” in diameter and takes the bending load associated with the swing arm/tower eccentric weight & loads generated by starting & stopping of the swing arm.

The main advantages are as follows:

Ø                  Sealed gearbox does not require maintenance.  A normal single reduction worm gear box is utilized.

Ø                  There is a “safety net” built in.  Shaft failure does not mean machine break down or cause of injury to personnel.

Ø                  All components are visible & can be easily inspected.

Ø                  Bearings are easily replaced with minimal cost or machine down time.
